Electrical Overstress (EOS)
Electrical Overstress (EOS) is any electrical stress that exceeds any of the specified absolute maximum ratings (AMR) of a product and causes it to fail. The failure can occur immediately or delayed and can be reversible or irreversible.

Absolute Maximum Ratings are understood from the perspective of a product. They apply to storage, handling and operation of a given product and they are specified by its manufacturer.
